Dear Frank,

This is my first attempt at a newsletter for MY Ultimus customers. I'll try to help keep you up to date on things going on at Ultimus and other information I hope you'll find useful. Your comments and suggestions are welcome and if you find that my efforts here aren't useful - please feel free to opt- out

Another New Book by Michael Hammer - The Agenda

Michael Hammer, of re-engineering fame has come out with a new book, The Agenda . In Chapter 4, "Put Process First" he describes how to make high performance possible in an enterprise. He implores managers to become 'process fanatics'

Quick outline: 1. Make yourself easy to do business with 2. Add more value for your customers 3. Obsess about your process 4. Turn creative work into process work 5. Use measurement for improving not accounting 6. Loosen your organizational structure 7. Sell through, not to, your distribution channels 8. Push past your boundaries in the pursuit of efficiency 9. Version 5.0d is now GA

Ultimus released version 5.0d this month.

Ultimus Workflow Suite includes a completely re- designed Client and Reports interface. This enhanced interface replaces icon views with full toolbar and folder tab views providing more flexible and intuitive navigation. An updated thin client-ideal for portables/PDA/cross-platform environments-is fully customizable and gives users the flexibility to adjust the number of tasks that appear on screen as well as streamline interface access for handheld devices. In addition, the new Ultimus Client supports ASP.NET and source code is available for customization. With complete localization of the Workflow Suite into Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese, the Ultimus Workflow Suite version 5.0d now supports 15 individual languages.
